August 17 - 31
One highlight for the month of August was having Rhett's family visit for a couple of days. They arrived at our place late on Thursday night (August 28). So we were able to celebrate Rhett's birthday with him on Friday--August 29. We also spent time with them on Saturday before they left at 6:00 am Sunday morning. It was a wonderful time! We showed them the typical Vermont attractions that we are familiar with: Ben & Jerry's Ice cream Factory, The Apple Cider Mill, some covered bridges, Quechee Gorge, Simon-Pierce Glass blowing and the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial!

Elder Ogden drove passengers to the top of Patriarch Hill in the Quad Gator while I took others in the "limo cart" to see ruins of the Solomon and David Mack homes, the Old Turnpike Road, and the stone bridge.

The Cornish-Windsor Bridge is the longest wooden bridge in the U.S. and the longest two-span covered bridge in the world.
Movie time Saturday night: Our neighbor, Talulah, was able to join in the fun for a short while.
Another nice event during August was a lovely piano concert performed by Becky Parry.
We enjoyed two rounds of Golf at the beautiful Woodstock course.
